San Diego Glamnation Pre-Concert Party + Concert + After-Concert

For those of you who were at the pre-concert party and have pictures, please send them to me at:dreamsound2@hotmail.com

The pre-concert party was great. About 21 people showed up. At first we had batches of 4-6 people come in at different intervals, so we had togo downstairs a couple of times and waitto get people to the lounge area. We all got to meet fans, have some drinks and it was very laid back. The conversations and pool games went so well that after 6:20pmI decided to stay upstairs. Some people arrived later andsomehow figured out how to pass security, entering the maze of elevators and then enter another maze to get to the lounge area. For thosetwo groups that did it, congratulations!

We went out in two separate groups across the street to the Copley Symphony Hall. Right before the concert, I gave my black nail polish to some extranger in line in exchange for her to do my nails. Then,Bryan (Stephanie’s boyfriend that came alongwith Linda) helped me get my‘glam-on.’

Yeah, that’s two perfectly straight guys putting guy liner on…priceless:

img_1033

During the concert we could still see some of the people from the pre-concert party and it was nice to‘know’ people there and say‘Hi!’ froma distance. I missed Allison Iraheta but Igot to see Orianthi. She actually didvery good in my opinion.

Now to the main event. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail because it has been covered here before (the songs, outfits, dancers, etc). The only think I can say about Adam’s performance is that it far exceeded my expectations. I thought I had a pretty good idea of what the show was going to be like from watching YouTube videos herebut the experience ofactually‘being’ there and seeing him live was a completely different thing.

My last concert was David Cook at Pechanga Casino during New Years (2009 to 2010) in Temecula, CA. I never thought anyone could ever top that. Well, Adam certainly did;and this is coming from a hardcore David Cook fan. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and Adam’s vocal ability and showmanship is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.

***We will update this space with some videos***

After the concert, I got to meet Adam’s mom and got to tell her I was born the exact same day and year than Adam. She was like‘that’s really cool!!’Although sheseemedtired, she looked like she’s been tanning/working outand actually looked kinda’hot:)(sorry!). We took a picture. Unfortunately, my camera was on some crazydaylight no flash mode so all my pictures came out blurry (You know how they always work except when you actually need them):

img_1043

Outside we waited for a while and Adam only showed up for about1 or 2 minutes. Of course one of our fans (Linda) got an autograph on her purse. I and other Adam-Lambert.org fans were able to get a picture with Tommy, the bass player:

img_1044

That’s all I havefor now… check back for updates, more pictures and videos!

The Soundcheck That Turned Into a Private Concert of a Lifetime! Please Forgive Us Adam for Listening In!!!

Want to get this up quickly! . . . Last night, fansite administrator Lila Hayes and I were at the Orange County Fairgrounds box office, trying to sell some extra tickets to that night’s show. What do we hear? OMG - it’s Adam singing Voodoo! They’re doing the soundcheck!! So, I start looking towards the entrance gates, and what do I see? Not much, but if there’s a seam to peek through, I’ll find it. I find a gate that’s open about 4 inches, so I walk through it into the interior courtyard, but still outside the outdoor arena. I go back to the door and call Lila in. We just started walking toward the entry ramps, and Lila is fearful we’ll get caught. What’s the worse that can happen? They’ll call us back? So we walk into the upper of the amphitheatre, and there’s no one there. No one, but the complete band doing the soundcheck on stage!! Being complete gutfull (new word that Lila has created to describe me!) I start walking down, down, down until we’re at the entry for the 1st 3 rows. There are 2 other people sitting in the 5th row listening. We smile at them, and move into the 3rd row. And there we had it. A private concert for about 35 minutes. We would have stayed longer, but we were putting on the Glamb dinner at Mimi’s Cafe, and Lila felt we really should be there early, to greet early arrivers. But no!!! How can we leave - this is too good!! I was hoping our friends and readers would forgive us for this incredible excuse! During the whole time we were there, no one gave us any attention. We couldn’t believe no one was asking us to leave. The band didn’t even take a second away from what they were doing to ask us to leave. I was kind of worried that they’d mind us sneaking into their private work time, but we had to figure that if they didn’t want us there, they would have had someone ask us to leave.

Now it was Lila’s turn to be brave. About halfway in, she managed to turn on her flip camera and video (or at least audio) what we were hearing. She didn’t want to be obvious so she hid it just at her waist level, pointing the camera up. Hence the great shots of the lighting! Every great once in a while, you see someone. But the sound is amazing!

It was such a complete education to hear what the band goes through to make the sound as perfect for the audience as they can. And listen to Adam trying“something with the rhythm of it” on Whole Lotta Love. The improvisation on the lyrics were EPIC. To be honest, I’m a little afraid that he may not have wanted it publicly known that he“wants to get laid!” After all, Lila’s videos from 12 hours ago have already beaten me to the internet! We’re seeing them on all the Adam reporting sites and twitter is already full of these clips. But Glambs, we want you to know that it came from US! And we give it to YOU!

I’m going to try for the soundcheck today, but maybe I’ll face security!?!?

Enjoy!!

Attention! This Is For Everyone Still Going to Adam’s Concerts - Read This!

Short and sweet - check with the box office to make sure of the start time of the show. Our show last night at Costa Mesa Fairgrounds started 30 minutes early. My good friend Glenda told me that the San Francisco show started 30 minutes early too. Fortunately I was at the box office yesterday early, getting some other information and the lady nicely told me they had just been notified 20 minutes earlier about the change.

The reason for this? Originally Allison Iraheta wasn’t scheduled to open for Adam during the second half of the Glam Nation Tour. Evidently the fans really called for her to be on the bill, so she’s rocking the opening, along with powerhouse guitarist Orianthi. Glenda said she heard this was for all the California concerts, but be sure and check with your box office or plan on arriving early if you can’t get confirmation.

You will still have a variety of entrees to choose from and we’re hoping this will not be a problem.

Please give us your full name, screen name, the number coming, and your cell number. Include any dietary restrictions. Going to Adam Lambert’s Costa Mesa Glam Nation Tour? Do You Want to Party??!!

Everyone who joined Sue, Lila and me at our Fantasy Springs dinner party last February had such a great time! We know how much you loved meeting each other, and that now you’re one big happy Glamily. Lila, Sue and I loved meeting you too! We’ve gotten so many requests asking if we’re going to have more parties one at various Glam Nation Tour locations. So we’re ready to set one for Costa Mesa on July 27th. This is for Glamb fans attending either the July 27 or the July 28 show. If this sounds good to you, please comment back and let us know how many of you would be coming and how many are in your party. You don’t even have to have a Glamb number, but we’d love it if you did!:)

***JUST ADDED: Please Glambs, I appreciate everyone’s comments about meeting on other days, but please keep your comments focused on attending the July 27 party we’re trying to plan. This party has to come together very quickly and I don’t have time to sift through other responses that aren’t RSVPs for this event. If you have something else you want to say, please go to the Forums and start a thread!:)

We’ve found a restaurant only 2 miles from the fairgrounds with a large, delicious menu, friendly prices and plenty of free parking. If we have enough people, they’ll even give us our own room! Once we find out how many people will be attending, we can make solid plans and then give out all the information.

The preliminary set up is:
July 27, 4:30 PM arrival. The fair isn’t running that day and the concert starts at 7:30 PM. Stay as long as you want. No cover charge. They will have staff on hand just to take care of us so the timing is perfect to enjoy a delicious meal together. Order anything off their menu - your cost. This will be a great opportunity to have fun together, get to know each other better, and get nutritionally charged for the epic concert to follow!! We’ll even have some give aways directly from the band!!

So Glambs and everyone reading this - if you’re going to the Costa Mesa shows we hope you’ll join us and party with your fellow Glambs!!

Let’s hear from you!!

Eber Lambert Tweets With Cutting Wit and Family Pride!

Adam Lambert’s dad, Eber Lambert has a brilliant mind for comedy and telling it like it is. There’s no doubt where the brothers get their sense of humor from. If you follow him on Twitter, you’ll be rolling from many of his tweets (and educated by the rest). Just catch the latest, obviously speaking to the Kansas City protesters last week.

Adam Lamberts Glam Nation Tour Rocks the Paramount: Denver Colorado, July 17, 2010

denver-postera1Adam Lambert has done it again! His latest concert on his Glam Nation tour was at the Paramount Theatre inDenver, Colorado on July 17, 2010.At this sold-out, 1870-seat venue, the Glam Nation Tour reached epic heights in musicality and production quality.

When I sawAdam in his first solo concertat Fantasy Springs, I thought this is great but I cant wait until he has the time and money to produce something that lets his creative side come out more.I knew he had more way more to give. And he did.

Adam Lamberts current concert tour, the Glam Nation tour, is just the beginning of our amazing journey with Adam in a long line of concert tours to come.Im not only thrilled with how his first concert tour has turned out I am totally blown away! But then, its not the first time Adam has blown me away.Im sure you know the feeling.

The theme that runs through the concert is one thing that sets the Glam Nation Tourdenveraapart.Adam talks about love, relationships, and life throughout the concert as introductions to his songs. At other times, he just lets his feelings out, interacting with the audience. As they say, its all good.

Before the Concert

On to to show itself Before the concert, Adam gave an interview on Denvers Mix 100 radio. You can listen to that here(Pt. 1)and here(Pt. 2).No pictures, just a shot of him to longingly stare at while you listen to his voice. This is fun to listen to.Im listening to it in the background as I write this.

Adam also had a Meet& Greet courtesy of local radio stations.Radio stationAlice 105.9s Glam Bowl Contestwinners got to meet Adam in personat the Lucky Strike Bowling Center and pose for pictures with him.To see pictures of this event, gohere. It was interesting to see what people wore to this Meet& Greet to take a picture with Adam.

Videos of Adam Lamberts Denver Concert: the Full Concert

Allison Iraheta opened the show. You can watch some of the videos of her in concerthereandhere.I love Allison and am so glad she is touring with Adam. She has such a sexy, sultry voice.Hopefully we will all get to know Allison better on this tour and support her by buying her CDs.

denver-signing-autographsaAdams set listat the Denver concert was the Opening Medley with Voodoo, Down The Rabbit Hole, and Ring Of Fire, folowed by Fever, Sleepwalker, WWFM, Soaked, Aftermath, an Interlude with Sure Fire Winners, Strut, Music Again, If I Had You as the finale, and the encore Mad World and Whole Lotta Love.

A huge thanks goes out toSuz526anddnewton98for such high quality videos of Adam Lambert singing at the Denver concert 7-17-10.

To see pictures of the concert, check outthis link.

StrutAt the beginning of this,Adam comments, I might not be able to breathe, but I can dance. At the mile-high city, Adam has been tossed into an altitude that makes it hard to breathe without any chance to adjust.Yet he dances and sings like crazy. He holds nothing back. The man must be in amazing shape.

Strut

Music Again

Finale-IIHY:Adam introduces the band members and lets them show off their skills.Camilla is hot on that keyboard! And of course, Longineau, Tommy, and Monty are outstanding, as usual.Mid-way into IIHY he introduces his dancers.Someones head is in the way for part of this, but watch Adams face as he watches the dancers.Adam dances with his choreographer at the end of this. The way Adam rolls his body makes my heart race!

At the end of the concert, the concert-goers had to have been on such a high!I know that seeing something on YouTube doesnt feel like actually being there.I can only imagine. If you want to have a glimmer of what it feels to be thereat the finale ofan Adam Lambert concert, watch this one.

Denver Finale - If I Had You

Glam Nation - Kansas City, MO Adam Lambert Shows Extreme Class in the Face of Those Without It!

It’s Carol - filling in for Maestro Sue on the Glam Nation Tour posts while she’s on vacation! I didn’t have any Glamb spy reporters at the show, so I’m posting a review published in the Kansas City Star written by Timothy Finn. And of course the videos. These aren’t the best for sound or completeness, but until I find better they’ll have to do. I think his version of Whole Lotta Love was epic! I have to highlight the first video. It’s an absolutely adorable quick audience sing-along, led by Adam onIf I Had You. And no posting about the Kansas City, MO appearance would be complete without SOME mention of the horrible display of how low human (were they even human?) behavior can sink. Don’t kill me folks, we are trying to be a news site here, not just a fan site. But I’m only going to include space for the brilliant answer! Of course we loved Adam’s tweet: *sigh* God doesn’t Hate.

~ Enjoy! ~

Review | Adam Lambert at the Midland

By TIMOTHY FINN
The Kansas City Star

When its eulogy is writ,“American Idol” will be remembered most for a very few things: Simon Cowell; the pseudo-freaks who signed up for auditions; and a few of its champions and runners-up.
Thursday night, one of“Idols” most memorable contestants, 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert, sold out the Midland theater, a feat rarely accomplished these days, unless you’re Leonard Cohen or apart of one of Johnny Dare’s hard-rock bonanzas.

To give you an idea of how inaccurate the“Idol” barometer is when it comes to predicting success, Lambert lost to Kris Allen, who earlier this year was one of the opening acts for the Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows. Lambert spins in an orbit unlike any other“Idol” winner or runner-up. Instead of third-generation grunge or watered-down R&B/soul/pop, he deals primarily in a mix of dance-pop and -rock— the kind favored by disco divas— and gives it all a light coating of goth.

It has helped him build a battalion of fans ages 12 to 60, which was the makeup of Thursday’s crowd.

His tour is called“The Glam Nation Tour”; his diehard fans call themselves Glamberts; and his show is loaded with lots of cabaret, choreography and gender-bending costumes— a mix of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Culture Club and Cher.

He took the Midland stage in one of those costumes, an ensemble of fur, fringe, leather, rhinestones and a black top hat, singing the song“VooDoo.” He would deliver 75 minutes of dance and music— some of it big and loud with heavy beats, some of it soft and acoustic. It included covers of Johnny Cash (”Ring of Fire”) and Led Zeppelin (”Whole Lotta Love”), proving that nerve and audacity are not two of his deficiencies.

Lambert separated himself from his“Idol” pack with his sense of campiness and his voice, which is big and beefy enough to take on Robert Plant or one of his own big-beat dance songs, like“Sure Fire Winners” or“Music Again.” It’s also agile enough to handle a guitar or piano ballad, like“Sleepwalker” or“Soaked.”

The set list comprised more than a dozen songs, most from his“For Your Entertainment” album, now approaching 700,000 in sales in the U.S. (more than double Allen’s debut). But the sights, including a laser show, and the dancing were as much an attraction as the songs.

It was all appreciated by the crowd of more than 2,500, some of whom had gathered outside the theater before lunch to assure a good spot on the floor.

Many wore tributes to him, like jewelry bearing his visage or an extra-heavy application of mascara. Even though the sound could have been a bit cleaner, most devoured it with the kind of intense enthusiasm and devotion that another“Idol” contestant generated— Clay Aiken.

He has learned that longevity is a tricky and elusive pursuit. Lambert, too, may learn the same thing, but for now he looks like a guy who lost a battle but is winning the long-term war.

Allison Iraheta: She, too, was a 2009“Idol” runner-up and during her brief opening set, she showed off what got her there: a voice big enough to handle Pat Benatar (”Heartbreaker”) and a few of her own hard-pop songs, which evoke the sound and styles of Pink and Joan Jett.

Read morehere.

So far, the only thing I’m seeing on the Kansas City, MO show is an absolutely adorable clip of Adam leading the audience in a sing-along for If I Had You. I hope he does that on future shows!

Glam Nation - Witchita, Kansas 07/16/2010

Another fantastic performance from Adam and crew was witnessed on Friday night at thesold outCotillion Ballroom in Witchita, Kansas. The following article was reported by Denise Neil of theWitchita Eagle, immediately followed by performance videos uploaded to YouTube by“texaseric1″ and”glitterandspice.”

If you have a spare 5 minutes and 44 seconds, be sure to watch the slightly-psychedelic version of“Whole Lotta Love.” :) Another of my personal favorites is this performance of“Sleepwalker.” If you were personally there…let us know your experience. For those of us yet to see a show (like me, who just purchased Houston Hobby Center tickets yesterday!), the excitement continues to build! ~Dana, Glamb #6

Lamberts showiness doesnt disappoint Wichita fans

Adam Lambert, like many successful“American Idol” alums, draws a diverse audience to his shows, and Friday’s sold-out crowd of 2,000 at the Cotillion was one of them.

Tweens, teens and 20-somethings crowded shoulder-to-shoulder on the packed Cotillion floor with moms and dads propping small children on their shoulders and young gay couples holding hands. Middle-aged couples and senior citizens well into their 80s stationed themselves at the tables circling the floors. KAKE-Channel 10 anchor and self-professed“Glambert” Susan Peters stood on a chair with her camera, trying to get a better look at the singer.

Lambert, 28, the second-place finisher but arguably most popular constant from“American Idol’s” eighth season, put on a synthesized, glittery, sexually charged show that appeared to please the fans he attracted.

Lambert, known for his glam stage presence, costume changes, soaring high notes and stylized pop, performed most of the songs from his debut album,“For Your Entertainment,” including radio hits“Whataya Want From Me” and“If I Had You,” plus a couple of covers he personalized when he appeared on“Idol.”

The set included several costume changes, each one accented with top hats, long coats, fur collars or dramatic feathers. His signature heavy black eye makeup and all-over body glitter was visible even from the back of the venue, and his floppy-on-one-side hairstyle was one of his best accessories.

The show, part pop concert, part music theater, was colorful, modern and never dull. Lambert made the most of the Cotillion’s small stage, crowding on a full band, a set of stairs and four backup dancers, who gyrated in sync with their glamorous leader as a laser show projected colorful spears of light above the crowd.

Highlights of the show were Lambert’s upbeat rock/pop songs, including“Fever,” during which Lambert showed off his dance skills, and an end-of-the-show performance of his single“If I Had You,” which was energetic, fun and showy.

His full voice and range was showcased during a performance of his single“Soaked,” an orchestral ballad that ended a slowed-down portion of the show that also included an acoustic version of“Whataya Want From Me.”

His Middle-Eastern-influenced rendition of Johnny Cash’s“Ring of Fire” was another highlight. You almost wouldn’t recognize the song if not for the lyrics, and for the fact that Lambert performed his version during his“Idol” run. And the crowd loved his encore cover of Tears for Fears’“Mad World.”

Lambert’s fellow Season 8 finalist, Allison Iraheta, she of the red-streaked hair and rocking raspy voice, opened the show with a 40-minute set that included several singles off her album“Just Like You,” including“Don’t Waste the Pretty,”“Scars,” and“Friday I’ll Be Over U.”

Wearing a tight-fitting dress with black boots and tights, 18-year-old Iraheta and her backup band, which included young women on bass and drums, also performed a cover of Pat Benatar’s“Heartbreaker,” doubling the rock quotient in the famous rock classic.

Adam Declares: Team Edward or Team Jacob! Also, Comments About Being Chased By the Drag Queen!

Hi Adam Fans!

Short and sweet - here is a really good (long!) interview done in Lansing, Michigan. The interviewer even manages to get some questions in that haven’t been asked a zillions times already! I know Sue posted the link for this interview already, but to be honest, I missed it the first time I read it. I thought it was so much fun I wanted to give it it’s own listing!:)

Enjoy!
